Terms & Conditions

Last updated 18 July 2026

Welcome to StartOne.lk ("StartOne", "we", "us"). These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our website and our business registration, tax, payroll and compliance services. By creating an account or ordering a service you agree to these terms.

1. Who we are

StartOne is a private service provider. We are not a government body. We prepare, lodge and manage filings with the relevant Sri Lankan authorities — including the Registrar of Companies, the Inland Revenue Department and the Department of Labour — on your behalf and with your authority.

2. Our services

Each service we offer has a described scope, an indicative timeline and a fixed professional fee shown before you order. Timelines that depend on government processing are estimates, not guarantees. We will keep you informed of progress through your dashboard.

3. Your responsibilities

You agree to provide true, accurate and complete information and documents, and to respond to our requests promptly. Delays or rejections caused by inaccurate or incomplete information are not our responsibility, though we will always help you fix them.

4. Fees and payment

Professional fees are payable in advance by bank transfer unless agreed otherwise. Government fees, stamp duties and similar third-party charges are billed at cost. Work on an order begins after payment is confirmed.

5. Refunds

Our refund approach is described in the Refund Policy page. In short: if we have not started work, you may cancel for a full refund of professional fees; once work has begun, refunds are pro-rated for work not yet performed; government fees already paid are not refundable by us.

6. Documents and data

Documents you upload remain yours. We store them securely and use them only to deliver the services you ordered. See our Privacy Policy for details.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim connected to a service is limited to the professional fees you paid for that service. We are not liable for decisions of government authorities, or for indirect or consequential losses.

8. Not legal or tax advice

Information on this website is general guidance, not legal or tax advice for your specific situation. For complex matters you should obtain independent professional advice.

9. Termination

You may stop using the platform at any time; your documents remain downloadable. We may suspend accounts used unlawfully or abusively.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have exclusive jurisdiction.

11. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always on this page, and material changes will be notified through the platform.
